Partner Takes Alternate Route in Sale of Tilia

Partner Paul "Chip" Lion led Tilia International Inc. in its sale to Alltrista Corp. for $160 million. Tilia, which produces home vacuum systems used to preserve foods, is headquartered in San Francisco, but is incorporated in Cook Island off of New Zealand. Rye, N.Y.'s Alltrista makes and sells food preservation products, such as cans and jars.
