Now-defunct Howrey LLP succeeded Monday in taking control of its bankruptcy and converting it to a Chapter 11 proceeding. The firm faced an involuntary Chapter 7 petition - which would have put the estate in the hands of a trustee - filed by three creditors April 11 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District seeking roughly $36,600 in unpaid goods and services.
