Bill Aimed at Shell Oil Has Builders Nervous

Construction attorneys are watching to see whether their clients could be hit by new pollution suits if a proposed bill aimed at keeping Shell Oil on the hook for alleged contamination passes.

CARSON - Lawyers for Shell Oil Co. scored a victory last month when they headed off what could have been a massively expensive lawsuit over petroleum contamination in a south Los Angeles County neighborhood.
