Judge Likely to Let Gay Club Meet

SANTA ANA - In comments indicating that he may be leaning toward issuing a temporary injunction allowing students at El Modena High School in Orange to launch an on-campus club dubbed the Gay/Straight Alliance, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter followed up lawyers' arguments Wednesday by saying the students' application attempting to legitimize the club was an honest attempt to "spell out that sex isn't going to be discussed" in club meetings.
