San Diego Watch: Bankruptcy Bench Honors O'Halloran

U.S. Bankruptcy judges in San Diego, last fall, honored sole practitioner Michael O'Halloran as the Outstanding Mediator for 1998-1999. In presenting the award, the chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court here, Louise DeCarl Adler , knew very well how successful the program has become and just how valuable the mediators are. It was Adler, who in the mid-1980s spearheaded a program to bring mediation to the bankruptcy court - the first such program of its kind in the country.
