Suit Tests Risk of Secondhand Smoke in Condos

Nancy Sagatelian, a nonsmoker, enjoyed the benefits of a healthy lifestyle until she bought a Pasadena condominium in April 1996. Within eight months, her attorneys said, Sagatelian suffered from bronchitis and other respiratory problems caused by secondhand smoke that wafted into her condo through the air ducts connected to the unit of a neighbor - a pack-a-day smoker.
