SANTA ANA - Acknowledging that the public defender's office has a conflict of interest in representing convicted killer Dwayne McKinney in McKinney's motion for a new trial, Orange County Superior Court Judge Kazuharu Makino on Monday appointed Santa Ana attorney Douglas Myers as new counsel for the defendant.
