Davis program offers help for Central Valley
By Rex Hime Gov. Gray Davis announced a program targeted at boosting the economy of the Central Valley. Aspects of the program include accelerating the construction of U.C. Merced, linking farms and rural residents to the Internet, providing tax credits to local biomass industry development, and investing in transportation projects to ease commuter and railroad congestion. The announcements came as Davis and a number of his cabinet officials met with community, business and political leaders
