      When I began mediating in early 2004, I set up a database to capture statistics on cases. Now, with 2007 over, I've reviewed the data to see whether any keys to settlement appear. I don't make any claims about the data's statistical significance, but I believe that they perhaps debunk some views about which factors affect settlement.
