Panel Finds Judge Erred In Gang Member Case

A Los Angeles jailhouse lawyer got substandard justice from a federal trial judge, a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel held Tuesday. The unanimous panel reversed U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner of Los Angeles. It granted plaintiff Salvador Solis a jury trial on his claim that jailers violated his constitutional rights by placing him in a gang cellblock at the Los Angeles County Jail. There, Solis was attacked and injured by other inmates.
