L.A. District Attorney Receives $56,000 Raise

LOS ANGELES - Steve Cooley got a $56,000 raise Tuesday, making him the highest-paid district attorney in the state. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously granted the raise - from $292,300 a year to $236,829 - a week after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed sweeping budget cuts that could significantly impact county revenues.
