Terrorist's Suit Against Professor Faces Challenges

A lawsuit that convicted terrorist Jose Padilla filed in San Francisco against Boalt Hall professor John Yoo is aimed at skirting jurisdictional issues raised in a similar complaint filed in South Carolina against former members of the Bush administration. But legal experts said the lawsuits against Yoo, former Attorney General John Ashcroft and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, as well as a dozen others, faces significant and perhaps insurmountable obstacles.
