California Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye told the Daily Journal she has not expressed opposition to the potential split of the State Bar's regulatory and trade association-like functions.
Her comments Friday were in contrast to those of a bar trustee who recently said that the chief seemed "pretty adamantly opposed" to de-unification of the agency during a private conversation.
