Cooley Godward: MOLECULAR DEVICES CORP. AND LJL BIOSYSTEMS MERGE

Deals: Molecular Devices Corp. and LJL BioSystems Inc., both based in Sunnyvale, have agreed to merge in a stock-for-stock transaction valued at $263 million. The deal will be treated as a tax-free reorganization.
