Lawyer Claims Lead Counsel Stole Nearly $300K in Fees

SAN FRANCISCO - In an extraordinary effort to overturn a death sentence due to allegedly bad lawyering, a capital appeals attorney is contending that the lead attorney defending a d eath r ow inmate at his murder trial 12 years ago not only failed to do his job, but stole a substantial portion of the nearly $300,000 the state paid him to represent his client.
