Court Rejects HMO Lawsuit Under ERISA
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed health maintenance organizations an important victory, ruling unanimously that a federal employee-benefits law does not allow patients to sue HMOs for rewarding doctors with financial bonuses for cutting treatment costs.
