A Hot August Night

Aug. 23, 1996, was a big night for the Rampart-based Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums team. That night, 12 officers from the group formed to protect innocent individuals from marauding gangs planted a gun and drugs on innocent citizens - in two separate incidents, according to lawsuits filed against the city and individual police officers.
