9th Circuits 3-0 Vote Expands Right to Counsel
Expanding the Sixth Amendment right to counsel, a federal appellate court ruled Tuesday that the government may not require a criminal defendant to reassert his right to counsel after an indictment if he had an ongoing attorney-client relationship prior to indictment.
