Distributor Loses Tobacco Challenge
A federal judge has dismissed a legal challenge to the $206 billion settlement between the Big Five tobacco companies and 46 state attorneys general.
U.S. District Judge Nora Manella on Wednesday granted Philip Morris Inc.'s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, which was filed by a cigarette distributor, and the ruling was made public Friday, lawyers in the case said.
