Pelican Bay Guard Gets Eight Years for Shooting of Inmate

SAN FRANCISCO - A former Pelican Bay state prison guard has been sentenced to nearly eight years in federal prison for a near-fatal shooting of an inmate motivated by what the government maintained was his hatred of child molesters.
