Chip consolidation continues as activists set sights

Amid an ongoing wave of consolidation in the semiconductor industry,, Milpitas-based Integrated Silicon Solutions Inc. announced Wednesday it had agreed to be acquired by Cypress Semiconductor Inc., a deal worth roughly $672 million.

Amid an ongoing wave of consolidation in the semiconductor industry, Milpitas-based
Integrated Silicon Solutions Inc. announced Wednesday it had agreed to be acquired
by Cypress Semiconductor Inc. in San Jose, a deal worth roughly $672 million that
had dragged on for weeks following a bidding war and concerns over antitrust scrutiny.
