Building Sale Budget Plan Back on the Table

As state legislators scrambled to meet Wednesday's budget deadline, they resurrected a controversial plan to sell 11 state office complexes to private investors.

As state legislators scrambled to meet Wednesday's budget deadline, they resurrected a controversial plan to sell 11 state office complexes to private investors.


Proceeds from the proposed $2.3 billion sale have resurfaced in Democrats' spending plan because Gov. Jerry Brown is considering an about-face on the deal, according to a spokesman for Assembly Speaker John A. Perez, D-Los Angeles.
