Phone Networks Must Be Made Available
The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled Thursday that existing local telephone companies must make portions of their networks available to their new competitors at low, cost-based rates.
The 8-0 decision reverses the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Justice Elena Kagan withdrew from the matter due to her work on it while at the Justice Department.
