Inner City Law Center raises $579,000
From left, Inner City Law Center Executive Director Adam Murray, center board member Andrew Esbenshade, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti at the law center's annual awards luncheon on June 4. The event raised a record $579,000 to power the center's work with low-income tenants and homeless veterans. The center honored Feuer for his longstanding history of protecting human rights, securing civil liberties and promoting justice for those underserved by the legal system. Also honored was Caldwell Leslie & Proctor PC and partner and Inner City Law Center Board member Andrew Esbenshade for their support of the center's work. Caldwell Leslie attorneys have partnered with the center in homeless prevention and slum housing litigation. In two slum-housing cases, 120 tenants received over $1 million in compensation and repairs by the landlords.
