San Bernardino County's presiding judge honored

More than 250 lawyers, judges and community members gathered May 15 to honor San Bernardino County Presiding Judge Marsha G. Slough at the 15th annual Kaufman-Campbell Awards Banquet. Each year, the San Bernardino County Bar Association gives the The Kaufman-Campbell honor to a judicial officer who's made substantial contributions to the community and the law. Slough was recognized for leading the court through staggering financial difficulties, during which she garnered more funding for the local court system, oversaw the opening of a new $340 million courthouse and helped change the statewide funding allocation for courts. Held at the Hilton Garden Inn in San Bernardino, the banquet boasted the highest turnout for any event held in the association's 137 years of operation, according to SBCBA President John Zitny. — Katie Lucia
