Alicemarie Stotler, a former Central District chief judge, dies

Senior U.S. District Judge Alicemarie Huber Stotler, a trailblazing woman in the California legal community, died at home Monday after a three-year battle with cancer. She was 72.

Senior U.S. District Judge Alicemarie Huber Stotler, a trailblazing woman in the California legal community, died at home Monday after a three-year battle with cancer. She was 74.


Stotler led the Central District of California as chief judge from her courtroom in Santa Ana from 2005 until 2009, when she announced she would take senior status.
