In about face, Assembly subcommittee votes to give courts $280M more in extra funding

The court's fortunes reversed again Friday when the subcommittee hastily met again after an Assembly floor session and voted to undo its action just a day earlier.

Courts were stung by an Assembly subcommittee vote Thursday to send the branch only $160 million in increased funding for 2014-15 - weeks after the same subcommittee May 7 voted to support $262 million.

But fortunes reversed again Friday when the subcommittee hastily met again after an Assembly floor session and voted to undo its action just a day earlier, this time supporting giving courts $280 million over last year's budge...
