New Law Hurts Immigrant Victims of Spousal Violence

Forum Column - By Chiori Kaneko - Gov. Gray Davis signed a law last month that will have a terrible impact on victims of domestic violence. The Synclair-Cannon Child Abduction Prevention Act is intended to prevent international child abductions by a parent or a guardian. Synclair-Cannon was supported by prominent advocacy groups such as California National Organization for Women and the Klaas Kids Foundation.
