Former City Attorney on the Bench

SAN FRANCISCO - Long before he was a lawyer, Ren Auguste Chouteau kept the company of judges. A fourth-generation San Francisco lawyer, Chouteau was exposed to the city's legal luminaries at an early age. As a youngster he toddled about as his grandfather threw parties for the city's judges. They weren't clad in robes, but Chouteau knew they held a special position.
