Ex-Con Writers Face Off in Ripley's Believe It or Not! of Civil Actions

Column by Garry Abrams - An ex-convict has sued another ex-convict over a movie script. Robert Dellinger, who did a short stretch in federal prison 30-some years ago for attempted extortion, filed suit in Los Angeles federal District Court last month against John Carlen, a one-time bank robber and male prostitute turned screenwriter who says he's walked the straight and narrow with perfect poise for the last 20 years. (Actually, Carlen confessed to me that he's had three traffic violations since he gave up bank jobs.)
