Former S.F. Lawyer Named Ambassador to Australia

On Friday, President Barack Obama named Jeffrey L. Bleich, who has served as a legal advisor to the president since March, U.S. ambassador to Australia.

WASHINGTON - When Jeffrey L. Bleich took leave from the San Francisco office of Munger, Tolles & Olson in March to serve as a legal advisor to the president, he said it would be a three or four month assignment.

On Friday, President Barack Obama announced Bleich's next job for the administration: U.S. ambassador to Australia. Bleich declined to comment.
