UCI Student: Why I Joined a Fledgling School

I moved into the graduate student apartments at UC Irvine two weeks ago. So far every day has been sunny and hot, a welcome change from Anchorage's typically rainy August and D.C.'s stifling humidity. With the dishes stacked, linens hanging and the pantry no longer quite as bare, the everyday details of settling into life in Orange County make the decision to come here seem like a lifetime ago.
