Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill that will limit fees on electronic civil filings in superior courts.
AB 2244 is a response to the growing use of e-filing for court documents — a practice that is likely to increasingly becoming mandatory in courts across the state.
The bill prohibits e-filing fees from exceeding "the actual costs incurred for processing the payment."
