New law will allow veterans' benefits to be used at more law schools

State-accredited law schools will again be able to accept GI Bill benefits.

Veterans will again be allowed to use GI Bill benefits at law schools in California accredited by the State Bar as a result of legislation signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown Wednesday.

The legislation, SB 1059, was a response to a 2014 law crafted to prevent veterans from using their educational benefits at unaccredited institutions starting this year.
