Amid fierce objections, judge approves day laborer settlement

A judge gave final approval Thursday to a $4.5 million settlement in a seven-year-old lawsuit day laborers filed in which less than 10 percent of the eligible class will get money from the deal, and the day laborers' lawyers pocket more than twice as much money as the workers themselves.
