Governor signs bill loosening evidence rules in some parole hearings

Gov. Jerry Brown announced Wednesday that he has signed several new criminal law bills, including one that will change the rules of evidence in Mentally Disordered Offender parole hearings following a state Supreme Court decision that suggested the need for a legislative fix.
