If he hadn't gone down the craft beer path, Chramer still thinks he would be an entrepreneur in a field like wine importing.
He is CEO and co-founder of Karl Strauss Brewing Company, which he began in 1989, that created a market for craft beers and had a snowball effect that led to numerous other craft breweries opening up in San Diego.
But he said he never imagined brewing and selling beer for a living.
