State Bar board approves alcohol spending ban

The agency's action comes after an outside audit raised concerns about the "optics" of the spending.

The State Bar's Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday to ban all agency spending on alcohol starting in 2017.

The board also voted to limit such spending for the remainder of this year.
