Former state legislator sentenced to a year and a day for money laundering

Thomas M. Calderon, a political consultant and former member of the state Assembly, was sentenced Monday to a year and a day of incarceration for one count of money laundering.

Thomas M. Calderon, a political consultant and former member of the state Assembly, was sentenced Monday to a year and a day of incarceration for one count of money laundering.

The sentence is the latest chapter in a federal corruption case that ensnared the politically connected Calderon family of Montebello in southeast Los Angeles County.
