Former state prison employee avoids personnel board hearing

A Sacramento County judge has granted a stay to a former Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation employee who challenged the authority of the State Personnel Board.

SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento County judge has granted a stay to a former Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation employee who challenged the authority of the State Personnel Board.

The ruling could have implications for the board's ability to award damages against current or former employees, and its jurisdiction over people who have left state service.
