Top Defense Verdicts--Trust Co. of the West v. Jeffrey Gundlach, et al.


It was a volatile case: Trust Co. of the West sought $566 million on claims of breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference, plus a royalty for trade secret theft, along with punitive damages against its fired bond fund manager Jeffrey Gundlach. Trust Co. of the West v. Gundlach, BC 429385, (C.D. Cal).


He then had left to start his own business, DoubleLine Capital LP.


Gundlach countersued for $500 million on damages related to his termination.
