Fee Injustice

It has been more than 15 years since private judging arrived. Early on, Chief Justice Rose Bird warned that serious study was needed before we allow the usurpation of our justice system by paid, unregulated people. Chief Justice Ronald George, demonstrating that this is not a liberal-conservative issue, was sufficiently troubled by private judging to appoint a task force to examine its impact on the courts, litigants and the public.
