Three Companies Connect in Wireless Transaction

New York's Bell Atlantic Corp., GTE, and London's Vodafone AirTouch have finalized a merger agreement valued at more than $70 billion. The new combined company will comprise the wireless assets of the three merging companies and will become the largest wireless service provider in the United States, with more than 20 million customers.
