Taxes modest in Marin and Sonoma counties, but developers cant escape impact fees
The newly released 2000 Kosmont Cost of Doing Business Survey(r) tracks four key cities in Marin and Sonoma counties: Novato and San Rafael in Marin, and Petaluma and Santa Rosa in Sonoma. Novato, Petaluma and San Rafael garner the Very Low Cost $ Kosmont Cost Rating. Santa Rosa, which has utility taxes, receives a Low Cost $$ Kosmont Cost Rating. The cost ratings are based on tax rates affecting business operations.
