East Bay business costs tilt north
The fifth annual Kosmont Cost of Doing Business Survey (r) tracks 19 communities in the East Bay region, which includes the counties of Alameda and Contra Costa. This special report spotlights nine East Bay communities: Berkeley, Emeryville, Hayward, Livermore, Oakland, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Union City and Walnut Creek. Berkeley and Oakland received Very High $$$$ Kosmont Cost Ratings because of their relatively high business, utility and property tax rates.
