Changing Times

Rosenberg When the California Industrial Welfare Commission scuttled the state's daily overtime requirement for a large segment of the work force (including law firms) nearly two years ago, Democratic candidate Gray Davis made the restoration of daily overtime a priority. Fulfilling his campaign promise, on July 20 Davis signed into law "The Eight-Hour-Day Restoration and Workplace Flexibility Act of 1999" (AB60).
