LOS ANGELES - The first bellwether trial in the multi-district litigation against Toyota Motor Corp. over alleged unintended acceleration problems has been set for early 2013 by a Santa Ana federal judge.
The bellwether procedure, a mass tort in which several cases are tried to jury verdict, is likely to set the tone for the hundreds of other cases against the automaker.
