California redevelopment agencies are threatening to sue state officials over Gov. Jerry Brown's proposal to eliminate them under his new budget plan.
The move would free up $3 billion a year, which would ultimately be redirected to schools, libraries, law enforcement and other "core functions," according to Brown's budget proposal for the coming fiscal year, released Monday.
