California's supreme court justices are being thrust back into the same-sex marriage debate - whether they like it or not.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals asked for the state Supreme Court's help Tuesday resolving whether proponents of Proposition 8, the same sex marriage ban, have standing to appeal a federal judge's order striking down the initiative.
