Stalled Nominations Meant Few Confirmed

Even after brokering a last-minute deal with Republicans to confirm 19 stalled judicial nominees near the end of the lame-duck session, President Barack Obama and his Senate allies managed to add just 60 lower court judges over the past two years.

WASHINGTON - Even after brokering a last-minute deal with Republicans to confirm 19 stalled judicial nominees near the end of the lame-duck session, President Barack Obama and his Senate allies managed to add just 60 lower court judges over the past two years.


Seven district court judges took the bench in California and one new judge joined the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
